Frequently Asked Questions
Are classes and courses online or in person?
All classes and courses are 100% online. You can join from anywhere in the world.
Can I try a class before committing?
I don’t offer one-off trial sessions, but you have two great ways to get started:
-
Watch a free mini-lesson on my YouTube channel to get a feel for my teaching style:
-
Book a 3-class starter package: this gives us time to build a connection, assess your level, and create a realistic learning rhythm together. Enroll here.
Language learning takes consistency and commitment. I don’t believe in miracle results from a single session, but I’m here to support you with structure, patience, and long-term progress.
Do you give homework or extra materials?
Yes. All students receive support materials, optional homework, and in many cases, recorded class replays. You can review at your rhythm.
Do you provide certificates for immigration purposes?
No, my classes are not designed for bureaucratic or certification purposes. That’s a personal choice: my focus is on helping you build a real connection with the Portuguese language and culture, so you can arrive feeling both respectful of and respected by the local community.
If you need an official certificate for immigration, residency, or citizenship purposes, I recommend:
- Preparing for and taking the CAPLE exam (which I can help you get ready for), or
- Enrolling in certified programs through IEFP or other government-recognised institutions.
Do you teach Brazilian Portuguese?
No, I specialise in European Portuguese. That said, I do have a solid understanding of Brazilian Portuguese, which helps me point out key differences and clarify patterns. This is especially helpful if you’ve used platforms like Duolingo or other apps that often mix the two variants or default to Brazilian Portuguese.
What’s your teaching approach?
My method is practical, personalized, and culturally grounded. I tailor each lesson to your pace and interests — always focused on real-life communication and human connection.
